This is how the editing timeline for TV3's telemovieTersalah Cinta (directed by Eirma Fatima) looks like. The footage comes from 2 different camera; (1) 5D MKII, (2) Iphone (!!!) ya seriously IPHONE. Shoot in sep-mag setup (video & audio has to be synced because came from different devices, like film). On-aired on Aidil Adha 2012.
 For the video call scene, im using After Effect for masking and compositing. This scene is quite easy because fortunately they shoot the scene; both actor and the laptop without movement (panning, tilting etc).
My latest project is for Aquila Emas, doing montage and motion graphic (fb chat, whatsapp, instagram & skype) for their latest drama "Fajar Di Bukhara".
I use rotoscoping technic for some shot of the montage to isolate the talent from the background so that i can stylize (add texture, flare etc) without disturbing the actor / actress visual. Ps: please ignore the chat / text at the chatting scene above it's just a sample and not an actual scene :p  My home-studio setup / facilities. Imac 21.5 (mid 2010)not really hi-spec but powerful enough to edit Full HD footage and for creating motion graphic.
Comes with 2nd lcd monitor (also 21.5), for more working window and also can be used for preview. I also have "oldschool" tv. The oldschool tv is used for preview the technical error/ problem in the video like jitter, flicker etc (mainly for RTM project because their technical site are very strict for this kind pf problem) Some other additional facilites are like printer, and dv cam for capturing / digitizing media from mini dv tape. |
